Bertil Mark
Bertil Mark (born September 8, 1976 in Mainz ) is a German light and stage designer, drummer , percussionist and music producer . He became known through show and light designs and his collaboration with Sportfreunde Stiller , Jan Delay , Farin Urlaub , The Notwist , Melody Gardot , Zemfira , Sarah Connor , Rammstein , Broilers , Revolverheld , Beginner , Kristjan Järvi , Matthias Schweighöfer , Helene Fischer , Clueso , Adel Tawil and Nena .
Life
Mark taught himself to play the drums as a teenager. From 1996 he played in the band "Fritten und Bier". The band leader Nils Bokelberg introduced him to his Cologne artist flat share, of which Thomas D was one of the residents . In 1999 the shared flat decided to move to a former horse farm near Daun , the MARS (“Modern Institution Rigoroser Spakker”), where Mark still lives today. In the recording studio there, he carried out his first sound experiments and thus laid the foundation for the beginning of his career as a music producer .
Artistic activities
Initially still working as a temporary worker for various newcomer bands, bands like Sportfreunde Stiller became aware of Mark. Today he is one of the big names in the fields of lighting technology and design. a. Tours by Melody Gardot , Selig , Bonaparte . In 2012 he received the Opus Award in the lighting design category for the “Last quiet journey” tour by Sportfreunde Stiller - the German Stage Prize, which is awarded annually “for outstanding achievements in the fields of theater and stage production, live events and open-air events “Is awarded.
He is also active as a drummer and percussionist . He played with Gentleman , Thomas D , Son Goku , Discostress, Warren Suicide, Be , Fruit, Mc Rene and Arj Snoek. He is also involved in DVD and television productions, e.g. B. Unheilig or the recordings of Sportfreunde Stiller unplugged.
As a producer he works with artists like von Brücken , Roman Lob , Thomas D, Son Goku, Clueso , Urlaub in Polen and Popnoname . In 2011, Edel released his first own album “Insight Outside”, which combines over 100 photographs taken on his tours in recent years with songs and tracks by Gentleman, Clueso, Thomas D and Michael Wollny .
