von Brücken was a German indie pop band that was founded in 2015 in Münster by Nicholas Müller , the former singer of the band Jupiter Jones , and the pianist and keyboardist Tobias Schmitz .
history
The band von Brücken was founded in 2015 by Nicholas Müller and Tobias Schmitz. Müller had left the band Jupiter Jones the year before and took a sabbatical year because he suffered from anxiety disorders. Tobias Schmitz is a long-time friend of Nicholas Müller and was a studio and live keyboardist with Jupiter Jones before the band was founded. Schmitz is a pop music design graduate from the Baden-Württemberg Pop Academy .
von Brücken gave the first concert in front of a closed society on July 23, 2015. On September 25, 2015, the band gave their first official concert in the Hamburg music club Uebel & Hazardous as part of the Reeperbahn Festival . The first headlining show followed on November 26, 2015, one month after the first album was released, in the Kulturkirche in Cologne. Both concerts were recorded for the WDR broadcast Rockpalast .
The studio album Far Away From Ready (2015) was recorded on the Eifel farm MARS, home and work place of Thomas D ( Die Fantastischen Vier ), and produced by Bertil Mark . Thomas D can be heard as a guest musician in the song Is good, Mensch . The album entered the German album charts at number 12. In February 2016, von Brücken presented it live on the ready-from-far-away tour.
At readings for his book I'm just dead again , Nicholas Müller announced the band's second album for 2018, which, however, was not released until the band split up on November 18, 2019.
