Smash Into Pieces is a Swedish rock band that was formed in Örebro in 2008 . The band has released four studio albums so far.

history

Smash Into Pieces' story begins in 2008 when Benjamin Jennebo (guitar), Isak Snow (drums) and Viktor Vidlund (bass) met to jam together. Later that year, Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye (vocals) and Per Bergquist (guitar) joined them. The band then played in local pubs near Örebro.

In April 2013, Smash Into Pieces signed a recording deal with Gain / Sony Music and then released their debut album Unbreakable . The album reached third place in the Swedish rock charts. In November of that year they performed live in Japan. For this purpose, a limited edition of the album Unbreakable was released by King Records.

In 2015 she released her second album The Apocalypse DJ , which climbed to second place on the Swedish rock charts. The album also reached top ten positions in other Scandinavian album charts. The track Disaster Highway was listed on Spotify's rock playlist "Rock This" and was their first song to hit over a million streams. After this album, Isak Snow left the band.

The band's big breakthrough came in 2017 with the third album Rise and Shine . With this album, The Apocalypse DJ officially became part of the band as mastermind / drummer / DJ. With the reboot by The Apocalypse DJ, more electro / EDM elements were added to the music , which gave the album a new sound. Even after the third album, the band has to accept another departure: Viktor Vidlund is leaving Smash Into Pieces.

With the success of the album, the monthly number of listeners on Spotify rose from 90,000 to 205,000. After the album, the band embarked on a longer concert tour with three major tours through North America, Europe and Scandinavia with 100 appearances within 10 months.

In the 2018 album Evolver , the band integrated pop and electronic elements more than before.
