The Smith Covered Bridge is a historic, covered road bridge in Rush County , in the US state of Indiana .
It is located northeast of Rushville on County Road 150 North . The bridge, which is designed in the Burr Truss design, crosses the Flatrock River .
The Smith Bridge was built in 1877 by AM Kennedy & Sons . The walls are clad in wood , another building material is stone. It was renovated in 1996 and is open to vehicle traffic. The average number of crossings per day is 134 vehicles (as of 2007). Their total span is 35.7 meters, the total length 36.9 meters, the internal width 4.7 meters and the ceiling height is 4.1 meters.
The Smith Covered Bridge was listed as a Historic Monument on February 2, 1983 by the National Register of Historic Places with the number 83000099.
