The Snake River is an approximately 15 mi long tributary of the Blue River in the state of Colorado in the United States of America .
It rises near the continental divide at Webster Pass , first flows north through a steep canyon, then swings west and passes the former mining town of Montezuma at the Keystone ski area . There it joins the Blue River and flows into the Dillon Reservoir , a reservoir for drinking water.
