The Blue River ( English for "Blue River") is an approximately 121 km long left tributary of the Colorado River in the US state of Colorado .

It rises in southern Summit County on the west side of the continental divide near Quandary Peak . The Blue River then flows north past the place of the same name Blue River and Breckenridge and through the Dillon Reservoir near Dillon . The confluence with the Colorado River is near the village of Kremmling .
