Snurom Kro

Snurom Kro is a former restaurant ( Danish Kro ) in Denmark .

Location and history

The former Snurom Kro is located about two kilometers west of the Danish town of Højer on the road between Højer and Tønder in Sønderjylland .

The inn (or the pitcher) was built in 1828 on Snøromdiget ( German  Snøromdeich ), which should prevent storm surges from Højer Kog northwards. It was a meeting place for travelers, locals and craftsmen.

The inn was closed in 1916 and has been a residential building ever since. In recent years it has been renovated.
