Sobieszów (German: Hermsdorf unterm Kynast , 1935-1945 Hermsdorf (Kynast) ; mountain Silesian Hernsdruf or Hernsdurf ) is a district of the independent city of Jelenia Góra (Hirschberg in the Giant Mountains) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship , Poland . It is located in the Silesian part of the Giant Mountains .

In 1305 a place called "Hermanni villa" was mentioned for the first time. From 1369 to 1945, the noble von Schaffgotsch family owned the estate and the palace complex.

In 1945 Hermsdorf fell to Poland as a result of World War II and was renamed Sobieszów . The population was expelled and the place was settled with Poles . Sobieszów was promoted to town in 1962 . Since 1976 it has been a district of Jelenia Góra (Deer Mountain in the Giant Mountains).
