The Société Jules Verne is an association that was founded in 1935 and deals with the work of the writer Jules Verne . The seat of the association is in Paris , France .

The Société Jules Verne founded by Jean Guermonprez in 1935 was dissolved in 1939 and resumed in January 1966. It currently consists of more than 200 members worldwide. The main aim of the association is to make Jules Verne and his work known. The Société Jules Verne published:

  • Analytical bibliography of all works by Jules Verne (2 volumes, 1977 and 1985) by Piero Gondolo della Riva
  • Original versions of the posthumous novels, edited and revised between 1905 and 1910 by son Michel Verne
  • Correspondence between Jules and Michel Verne with their publishers Louis-Jules and Pierre-Jules Hetzel (5 volumes)

Bulletin of the Société Jules Verne

The association publishes the bulletin of Société Jules Verne (BSJV). The publication, first published in 1935, was in its 208th edition in 2018. The so-called old series includes 13 issues and the series that has continued to this day comprised 195 issues at the end of 2018. For a long time it was published quarterly, since 2010 it has been published every four months, since 2017 it has appeared twice a year, but with a larger number of pages. The publisher was Olivier Dumas between 1969 and 2012, and the font has been published by Volker Dehs since June 2012 .

The Société Jules Verne bulletin brings together the work of the Verniens around the world. Unlike the Jules Verne Revue , it is rarely limited in topic and publishes the latest scientific research on Jules Verne. The font published most of Jules Verne's unpublished works, as well as letters from his friends Nadar and Alexandre Dumas the Younger, including the correspondence between his son Michel Verne and the publisher Hetzel.
