Sofia Vytautaitė (* 1371 in Trakai ; † June 15, 1453 in Moscow ) was Grand Duchess of Moscow . Her father was Vytautas the Great (1350-1430), general, Grand Duke of Lithuania. Her mother was Ona Vytautienė (1370-1418). In 1391 Sofia married the Grand Duke of Moscow Vasily I and later became the guardian of his son Vasily II (at that time her father Vytautas was pursuing a stabilization policy in Russian countries). After the death of her husband, she also took over the guardianship government for their son Vasily II (* 1415).
