Aster was the official mascot of the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Italian Turin .

description

Aster is a light blue, star-shaped snow crystal . Aster was designed by Pedro Albuquerque, who also created Neve and Gliz , the mascots of the 2006 Winter Olympics . All three mascots often appeared together as friends.

meaning

Aster is supposed to symbolize the uniqueness of every Paralympic athlete. In addition, the figure should underline the performance and agility of the athletes. The dynamic representation of the snowflake enabled a positive illustration of the various Paralympic sports.

presentation

Aster was first introduced to the public at an event on March 10, 2005, exactly 1 year before the start of the Paralympics. The presentation also attended Philip Craven , President of the International Paralympic Committee, and Luca Pancalli, President of the Italian Paralympic Committee.
