Vučko
Vučko , the little wolf ( vučko = diminutive of vuk , Serbo-Croatian for 'wolf') was the mascot of the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 .
Emergence
Vučko was designed by the Slovenian painter Jože Trobec and determined by a poll in the major Yugoslav newspapers. He was in the final together with five other mascots, these were: a snowball, a mountain goat, a lamb, a hedgehog and a weasel. A total of 836 artists submitted their proposals for the mascot.
description
Vučko wore a red scarf around his neck and had a pair of red skis on his shoulder. Vučko was particularly popular because of his “Sarajevouuu!” Howling. According to the IOC, the mascot caused the wolf to shed its bad image as a fearsome and bloodthirsty animal in the region.
