The software industry association for electronic legal traffic e. V. ( SIV-ERV ) is the association of companies that offer services and products for electronic legal transactions in Germany. The SIV-ERV represents, among other things, the interests of numerous manufacturers of software products for electronic legal transactions vis-à-vis authorities and other competent bodies that deal with electronic legal transactions.

Goals and content

The SIV-ERV collects and provides all technically and legally relevant information for the development and operation of systems for electronic legal transactions. In addition, he is particularly committed to standardization and open and interoperable systems and interfaces.

The SIV-ERV thus represents the interests of the software industry in the field of justice. The association indirectly represents the interests of over 100,000 lawyers, notaries, auditors, insolvency administrators and clerks in relation to the judiciary and administration, because these are the customers of its members.

The association advocates a further development of the systems for electronic legal communication that is as customer-friendly as possible. The SIV-ERV pursues an open and extensive understanding of the term "electronic legal transactions" (ERV). He understands by this not only the legally binding electronic communication between those involved in the proceedings and the courts, but also the internal electronic handling of cases ( workflow ), the electronic filing up to and including electronic archiving .

Since the planning of the special electronic lawyer mailbox (beA) , the association and its members have been accompanying the implementation and implementation in order to enable the integration of the necessary interfaces into the software products for electronic legal transactions. The association sees itself as a central information point, in particular to clarify contradicting information and thus to offer its members the opportunity to inform their own customers in a neutral and manufacturer-independent manner.

The association also represents its members in the planning of communication with software components of the ForumStar Justice project or in the integration of the XJustiz interfaces. Through regular meetings of the association members with representatives of the respective judicial authorities, an attempt is made to ensure that plans do not run past one another.
