The Sogang University ( Hangul : 서강대 학교 ; Hanja : 西江大學校 ) is a Roman Catholic private university in the South Korean capital Seoul .

Sogang University was founded in 1960 by Jesuits from the Wisconsin Order. Sister universities that follow Jesuit philosophy are Georgetown University , Boston College, and Sophia University . Sogang University's Korean Language Education Center has a good reputation and focuses on practical application (speaking).
