Odell Beckham Jr. Cornelius (* 5. November 1992 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Louisiana State University before being selected by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft . He has been playing for the Cleveland Browns since 2019 .

Early years

Since Beckham's athletic talent showed up early on, he played football as well as basketball and athletics in high school . At the age of 13, he was invited to do trial training for the United States U15 national football team. He was offered scholarships from several renowned universities, such as the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) or Tulane University . He chose Louisiana State University and played college football for their team, the LSU Tigers, for three years , for which he was repeatedly awarded.

NFL

Beckham was the first round pick of the New York Giants in the 2014 NFL Draft . Although he was only partially able to complete the preparation due to an injury and had to pass the first four games, he had an outstanding season in which he broke numerous NFL records. He caused a sensation on November 23, 2014 with his second touchdown in the game against the Dallas Cowboys (28:31), a spectacular one-handed catch that was not only called the best catch of the year, but was even called by some considered one of the best catch ever. As a special honor, the jersey he wore that evening was included in the collection of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and exhibited.

On January 31, 2015 Beckham was the title of Offensive Rookie of the Year ( Offensive Rookie of the Year awarded). He was called up to the Pro Bowl in his rookie season .

In the 2015 season, he not only confirmed his performance from the previous year, but again showed with spectacular pass catches that he is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. In 15 missions he caught 96 passes for 1,450 yards and 13 touchdowns and was re-elected to the Pro Bowl. He also broke Randy Moss's record for most yards caught in the first two NFL seasons (2,744). In the game against the Carolina Panthers on December 21, 2015, Beckham received three personal foul penalties in a duel with Panthers cornerback Josh Norman and was subsequently suspended for one game because he jumped on the side of his head with his helmet first .

After another outstanding season in 2016 , in which he ran 1,367 yards, Beckham's 2017 season was over after four games due to a broken ankle in the game against the Los Angeles Chargers .

On March 12, 2019, the Giants agreed to hand Beckham over to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a first and third round pick and the Safety Jabrill Peppers .
