The solar thermal power plant PS20 ( Spanish: Planta Solar 20 ) is currently Europe's largest commercial solar tower power plant with a nominal output of 20 MW. It is located in the Sanlúcar la Mayor plain near Seville in Andalusia .
Along with the neighboring PS10 solar thermal power plant, the PS20 is the second system within the Plataforma Solar de Sanlúcar la Mayor (PSSM) . 1255 on heliostats mounted mirror mounted semicircular reflect the sunlight and concentrate it to a common absorber which is mounted on a 114 m high tower. With the heat concentrated there, steam is generated, which drives generators via turbines .
The plant went into operation in April 2009 after three years of construction. The official inauguration took place in September 2009 by King Juan Carlos I of Spain. The facility is operated by Abengoa .
