The Cerro Solo or El Solo is a 6190 m , according to other sources 6205 m high stratovolcano in the Andes on the edge of the Atacama Desert in the border region of the Argentine province of Catamarca and the Chilean Región de Atacama . To the west of the mountain is the Nevado Tres Cruces National Park and east of the Solo is the Nevado Ojos del Salado . The volcano was the source of large pyroclastic river deposits during the Holocene , which densely filled the neighboring valleys.
