Solomy Balungi Bossa

Solomy Balungi Bossa (born April 14, 1956 in Uganda ) is a Ugandan lawyer and judge at the International Criminal Court .

Live and act

Bossa studied at Makerere University Law and received his 1979 Bachelor of Laws . From 1980 she worked as a lecturer at the Law Development Center in Uganda, where she worked until 1997. From 1988 she also practiced as a lawyer. In 1997 she moved to the High Court of Uganda , the third highest court in Uganda , where she was a judge until 2013. From 2001 to 2006, Bossa was also a judge at the East African Court of Justice , the court of the East African Community . From 2003 to 2013 she also served as a judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda . From 2013 she was a judge at the second highest highest court in Uganda, the Court of Appeal of Uganda . From 2012 to 2018 she was a judge at the International Residual Mechanism for the ad hoc criminal courts and from 2014 to 2018 at the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights .

Bossa has been a judge at the International Criminal Court since March 2018 .
