Solotnik

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Solotnik ( Russian золотник ) was a unit of weight in Russia and is the 96th part of the Russian pound with about 409 grams . The pound (Funda / Funta) was already “calibrated” in 1740 by means of ducats .

  • 1 Solotnik = 196 pounds (Russian) or Griwenka = 96 Doli = 4.265 grams
    • Conclusion: 1 gram = 0.23443 zolotniki.
  • 3 solotnik = 1 lot
  • 3840 Solotnik = 1 pud

The weight was also suitable as a gold, silver and coin weight. Its division here was as a test weight in 12 ; 14 ; 18 ... 164 . Compared to the weight of Lana with 34 grams which was calculated 112 of a pound , there are 8 solotniks.

Solotnik is also used to indicate the fineness of Russian precious metals. A Solotnik corresponds to a fineness of 196 , i.e. 14 carat .

In the Persian Solotnik , also Persian Miskal or Metikal, the relationships were

  • 1 solotnik (pers.) = 1 111 solotnik (russ.) = 4.65354 grams
  • 88 Solotnik (pers.) ≈ 1 Funta (russ.)
  • Comparison with the Petersburg measure: 96 Solotnik (Russian) = 1 Funta (Russian) = 0.40917 kilograms
