The Somali sheep (also Somali sheep or Berbera Blackhead called) is a domestic sheep breed from East Africa. It is a hornless hair sheep that is one of the fat- tailed sheep and is adapted to arid conditions. His head is black and clearly demarcated in color from the rest of the light body.

The fat-tailed sheep come from the steppe areas of Asia. They have likely been present in Africa for millennia, but it is not known exactly when they got there. The Somali sheep is traditionally kept by the Somali in the Horn of Africa and other ethnic groups in arid regions of Africa .

From the end of the 19th century, the Blackhead Persian breed was bred from the Somali sheep in South Africa .

Somali sheep have also been kept in some European zoos since the 1950s.
