The Sombre Lake (English for Gloomy Lake ) is a lake on Signy Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is the northernmost of the three lakes in the Paternoster Valley in the northeast of the island.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 based on the naming of the neighboring Stygian Cove .
