The Somers Nunatak is an approximately 600 m high nunatak on the Loubet coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . On the Arrowsmith Peninsula, it rises on the western edge of the Reid Glacier and offers a good view of numerous geographic objects in the area.
The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) carried out geological work in the area between 1980 and 1981. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the Nunatak in 1984 after Geoffrey Usher Somers (* 1950), who was an assistant scientist at the BAS at the Rothera station from 1978 to 1981 and was involved in this work.
