Listed on the Paris stock exchange Somfy ( " S ocieté d ' O utillage du et M du écanique F aucign y ") develops and distributes drive and control systems for roller shutters , sun protection , garage and yard gates. Somfy target groups are end users, skilled tradesmen, carrier product manufacturers as well as architects and planners.
The company was founded in Cluses (France) in 1960 . There are 76 subsidiaries and 51 agencies with a total of around 6120 employees in 60 countries. The total turnover in 2018 was 1.1 billion euros. With 300 employees, the German Somfy GmbH is the largest international subsidiary. It was founded in Tübingen in 1969 and has had its headquarters in Rottenburg am Neckar in Swabia since 1995 .
Products
Somfy is a manufacturer of components for the automation of private buildings and large objects and offers control and motorization solutions for the following types of curtains and facade elements:
- Interior elements: Venetian blinds, Roman blinds, roller blinds, screens, curtains, horizontal shading, pleated blinds, projection screens for home theater and conference rooms, skylights.
- Exterior elements: roller shutters, drop arm awnings, cassette awnings, folding arm awnings, basket awnings, awnings, conservatory awnings, window awnings with and without cassette, facade and roof windows, large slats, horizontal shading, external blinds (external venetian blinds), sectional doors, side sectional doors, sliding overhead doors, swing doors, overhead doors, wing doors Revolving and sliding gates for driveways.
