The 73 km long river has its source near the village Koziczyn (Gmina Regimin ) north of the city of Ciechanów in the Masovian Voivodeship , then flows south through the Gmina Sońsk and the Gmina Nowe Miasto and empties at the village Popielżyn-Zawady (Gmina Joniec ) in the Wkra. The catchment area is given as 536.5 km².
