Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations

The Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations ( Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations , C34) is a committee of the United Nations . 124 member states are currently represented in it, which either take part in UN missions or have been admitted according to observer status. 17 other states as well as the European Commission , the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Interpol have observer status. It was established on February 18, 1965 by resolution 2006 (XIX) of the General Assembly . C34 is the only body of the United Nations which has a mandate from the General Assembly to deal comprehensively with all aspects and questions of peacekeeping .
