Special airport

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The special airport is a classification by the legislature for airfields in Germany. Special airports serve special purposes, e.g. B. the works traffic of an aircraft manufacturer and are not a facility of general traffic. Before using a special airport, the permission of the operator must be obtained (PPR / Prior Permission Required ). Airports have a building protection area according to § 12 LuftVG. Building protection area means that construction projects that penetrate the areas of the building protection area require a permit under aviation law in addition to the building permit. The German air traffic control has to issue an opinion on the obstacles that touch the surfaces of the construction protection area.

Currently only the Oberpfaffenhofen airfield , Lahr airport and the civil part of the Manching military airfield have this status . The Airbus factory airport Hamburg-Finkenwerder has been approved as a special landing field .
