The Fondo Toce Special Nature Reserve (or Fondotoce Special Nature Reserve) is a nature reserve in northern Italy established by Regional Law 51 of April 24, 1990. The name refers to the mouth of the river of the same name, after which the district Fondotoce in the municipality of Verbania , where the mouth is located, is named.

It is a wetland that, besides the confluence of the Toce River into Lake Maggiore, includes the largest thicket of reeds in the lake and is particularly important for the reproduction of fish and migratory birds, which are present with numerous and rare species. Noteworthy are the sleeping places of the cormorants on the riverbank and, especially at the end of summer, the arrival of tens of thousands of swallows on the bird migration, which settle in the reed thicket.

There are also rare plant species, including the Lake Maggiore water nut ( Trapa natans verbanensis ).

This is where the Centro Studi sulle migrazioni del Fondotoce (Study Center for the Migrations of Fondotoce) is based.
