Songphon Anugritayawon

Songphon Anugritayawon ( Thai : ทรง พล อนุ กฤตยา วรรณ ; born October 31, 1983 ) is a Thai badminton player .

Athletic career

Nationally, Songphon Anugritayawon won for the first time at the Thai championships in 2005 in men's doubles with Nitipong Saengsila . Three years later he was again successful in men's doubles with Tesana Panvisavas .

In 2009 he won the mixed competition at both the Thailand Open and the Japan Open with Kunchala Voravichitchaikul . At the Singapore Super Series 2008, however, both were eliminated in the semi-finals, at the Asian Games 2006, the Swiss Open Super Series 2009 , the Singapore Super Series 2009 and the All England Super Series 2009 even ended up in the second round. He was more successful at the Southeast Asian Games. After both were eliminated in the quarter-finals in 2007, they made it to the final two years later, where they were defeated in three sets against Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir from Indonesia. At the 2007 Summer Universiade he even won two medals. In the men's doubles, he won bronze with Nuttaphon Narkthong and gold with the team. At the World University Championships in 2002 he secured bronze with Kunchala Voravichitchaikul .
