Sonia Kälin

Sonia Kälin (born March 9, 1985 in Egg ) is a Swiss sportswoman in the sport of wrestling .

Career, work

Kälin grew up on a farm in a Schwinger family on the Etzel , together with four siblings. Her father Benedikt was also a successful wrestler, as were two of her mother's brothers.

She is the four-time wrestling queen: 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Due to injury, she surprisingly announced her resignation at the beginning of 2019. Kälin works as a teacher in Einsiedeln . She has been married to Stefan Halter since September 2018.

Since July 2019 she has been the first female referee in the broadcast Donnschtig-Jass on SRF .

Honors

In 2015 she was voted Sportswoman of the Year in the canton of Schwyz .
