Sonic Debris is a Norwegian progressive metal band from Hedmark , which was founded in 1995 under the name Blindfold .

history

The band was founded in 1995 under the name Blindfold by drums Morten Bergseth, bassist Knut Bergaust and guitarist Tommy Nilsen. A year later, singer Rune Sørheim joined the cast. In 1997 and 1998 a demo followed with Beside Me and Blindfold . In 1998 keyboardist Peter Ringvold also joined the band and completed the line-up. In 1999 the band renamed itself and released the demo Brave New World . They released their debut album with Velvet Thorns on DVS Records in 2000. This was followed by appearances in Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands , including ProgPower Europe . Then the band took a break to devote themselves to other projects.

In 2007 the band came together again, with Jan Roger Sletta as a new member of the line-up as drummer and keyboardist Daniel Marken. The follow-up album was recorded by Hamar Recordings in 2008 and later mixed by Alex Møkleust in Room 13 . The album was released in 2009 under the name Day for Night .

style

The band plays classic progressive metal, although comparisons can be drawn with bands like Dream Theater . The occasional use of non-metal elements such as the use of a piano is also style- defining .
