Sonim Son ( Japanese ソ ン ・ ソ ニ ム , Son Sonimu ; kor. 성선임 , 成 膳 任 , Seong Seon-im ; also known under the abbreviation Sonim , in Japan as Sonin ( ソ ニ ン ); born March 10, 1983 in Kōchi Prefecture , Shikoku , Japan ) is a J-pop singer and actress belonging to the Korean minority in Japan .

Short biography

Sonim Son began her musical career together with Yūki Gotō , with whom she formed the pop duo EE Jump . Her first single, Love is Energy , was released in October 2000 and was placed in the Japanese top 10. The three following singles from EE Jump also reached the top 10 of the charts. In September 2001 Sonim Son released the single Winter ─ Samui Kisetsu No Monogatari ─ under the name "EE Jump featuring Sonim" without Yūki Gotō . Together with Yūki Gotō, Sonim Son then released a single and an album before EE Jump broke up in 2002.

With the single Curry Rice no Onna ( German  Die Curryreisfrau ) Sonim Son started her musical solo career in August 2002.

In January 2003 she began her acting career. She gets her first role in the television series Kōkō Kyōshi .
