action

The Japanese wrestler and father of two Kouta Shishioh, his character "King" of the wrestling organization ZERO , moves with his petite wife Asami and their family into a new dream home. The plump wrestler plans to end his active professional career despite a substantial mortgage . He says goodbye to his wrestling friends with a splendid party, at which u. a. his sister-in-law and manager Nami and television producer Naoto Yamaji are present. The blond-colored and undesirable villain, Mark Ichijoh, who blames Shishioh for killing his brother and who does not like the lifestyle of his renowned opponent, also appears at the festivities. The intruder provokes and insults the host, which inevitably leads to serious confrontations with other people present. In the wild confusion, there is suddenly an explosion initiated by Yamaji. The magnificent property is almost completely destroyed, Asami is hospitalized with life-threatening CO poisoning and open wounds. At first she falls into a comatose state.

Meanwhile, Kouta tries to rebuild the house in order to fulfill Asami's most ardent childhood dream and possibly to get her to heal more quickly. However, since he lacks sufficient financial means due to outstanding liabilities, the devoted house builder turns to the seedy television producer Yamaji, who compensates him for his personal rights to a new type of reality show . The aim of this partly intimate television show is to constantly accompany Kouta with a camera team and to record his feelings and emotions. Meanwhile, Asami regains consciousness, but Yamaji deliberately infects her with unknown bacteria that cause a physical change. The young patient's fins, scales and gills gradually grow. Yamaji senses a sensation in the “mermaid” story that could make him famous nationwide. Kouta, however, forbids him to film this kind of film, but inevitably holds out the prospect of returning to the fighting ring.

Yamaji is planning a major media-effective live battle event for Shishioh's newly built home in the next few days. Kouta and the remaining members of his ZERO team have to assert themselves against a number of legendary and sometimes extremely brutal opponents, which he also succeeds in an exhausting mission. At the end of the film, the upright “King of the Wrestlers” finally faces the vengeful Ichijoh and the unscrupulous Yamaji. He can defeat and apparently kill both opponents again. In the last scene of the film, he and his young son visit his companion Asami, who has now mutated into a mermaid, on the beach of an unspecified body of water.
