Sonique is a deprecated audio player that is only available for Windows operating systems.

The software was developed by Media Science and sold to Lycos with this company . After the takeover by Terra , development and sales for Sonique were gradually discontinued.

Sonique plays all common file formats such as MP3 , WMA , Vorbis and audio CD . The current, stable version is version 1.96. It was last updated on February 8, 2005. Version 2 was still being worked on for a while. Version 2.0 beta has been released but is still unstable.

Similar to Winamp , Sonique appeared for Windows in the 1990s and attracted many users thanks to its user interface, which could be greatly modified using skins.

Later Sonique could no longer keep up with the development of Winamp, causing Sonique to lose many users.

Although no longer developed, the software continues to work on Windows. Due to its age, it has low hardware and software requirements.
