Sonja Schmidt

Sonja Schmidt (* 1946 ) is a German pop singer who celebrated her first successes in the GDR .

Life

Sonja Schmidt comes from Crimmitschau . She successfully participated in youth competitions, sang in various bands and then made her first radio recordings. Sonja Schmidt successfully completed her training at the “ Central Studio for Entertainment Art Berlin”. Through many tours ("Sonjas Musike") and appearances in the most important television entertainment programs, she quickly became popular. Numerous Amiga records were released between 1967 and 1974 . Her biggest hit was a sky blue Trabant. The song can be found on many CDs that portray light music from the GDR. From the mid-1970s Sonja Schmidt worked as a parodist, among others for Vicky Leandros and Nena . 2006 Sonja Schmidt announced in the MDR telecast Between you and her stage farewell.
