Solar eclipses of the 22nd century
Solar eclipses of the 22nd century :
Among the 235 solar eclipses between 2101 and 2200 (see list of solar eclipses of the 22nd century ), the theoretical minima (2 eclipses per year) or the maximum (5 per year) occur several times.
Among them stands out the darkness on June 25th, 2150 , which will be the longest in the last 177 years. The duration in its totality zone will be over seven minutes , the last time the solar eclipse occurred on June 30, 1973 .
Interestingly enough, this will be repeated twice relatively soon, namely on July 5, 2168 with 7.4 minutes and on July 16, 2186 with even 7.5 minutes. The latter is the longest total solar eclipse between 1999 BC. BC and 3000 AD, it almost reaches the theoretically possible minimum of the lunar distance from the earth. These three eclipses belong to the same Saros cycle 139.
