Sophie Gail , b. Edmée Sophie Garre (born August 28, 1775 in Paris ; † July 24, 1819 there ) was a French opera singer (mezzo-soprano), composer and writer .

Life

After her husband left the still very young Sophie Gail, she decided to earn a living herself and devoted herself to the music she had previously played as an amateur. Aside from a number of novels, she created several comic operas.
