Sophie of Weimar-Orlamünde

Sophie von Weimar-Orlamünde (13th century), Countess of Weimar Orlamünde, of the tribe of Askanier was a daughter of Count Hermann II. (Weimar-Orlamünde) and Princess Beatrix of Andechs-Meran , a daughter of Duke Otto VII . (Merania) .

Life

Sophie grew up as the only daughter out of five brothers. It is historically difficult to grasp. Therefore, little is known about their life. The first and only documented source in which it is mentioned by name comes from July 1, 1258.

Before June 19, 1258, she married Heinrich VIII , Vogt von Weida (1243 / 1254–1279 / 1280). She has three children with him:

  • Henry IX. (VIII.) (* Around 1260; † after September 28, 1316/1320); ∞ NN von Lobdeburg, daughter of Count Hartmann VII. Von Lobdeburg-Leuchtenburg (-1278) and Mechtild von Gleichen (stone?) (-1306)
  • Heinrich (* around 1262), provost in Jagow (1294) and chaplain to the Margraves of Brandenburg
  • Heinrich X. (IX.), "The Younger" (* around 1264, † between March 22, 1293 and July 22, 1293); ∞ Hedwig (* around 1268; † after December 8, 1331)
