Otto VII († May 7, 1234 in Besançon ) was Duke of Merania from 1205 and as Otto II from 1211 Count Palatine of Burgundy . From 1228 to 1230 he was Margrave of Istria .

Otto was the son of Berthold IV von Andechs and Agnes von Rochlitz . In 1205 he succeeded his father as Duke of Merania.

His first marriage was on June 21, 1208 in Bamberg, Beatrix von Staufen († May 7, 1231), Countess Palatine of Burgundy, daughter of Count Palatine Otto I and Margarete von Blois , Countess Palatine of Burgundy, and thus a granddaughter of Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa . As a result of this marriage, he took over the government of the Palatinate County from his mother-in-law in 1211 (as Otto II).

In 1228 he inherited the remaining lands from his brother Heinrich , who was ostracized from 1208 to 1211 because of his alleged participation in the murder of the German King Philip of Swabia .

In his second marriage he married Sophie von Anhalt ; † between November 23, 1272 and January 5, 1274, daughter of Prince Heinrich I. This marriage remained childless.

Otto I was buried in Langheim . His widow married Count Siegfried von Regenstein for the second time ; † March 12, 1240/46, in third marriage to Otto the Younger of Hadmersleben , attested in 1269/76; † before 1280.
