The Sophienbrunnen is a fountain in Stuttgart . It is located in the Stuttgart-West district in the Hasenberg district at the upper end of the Hasenbergsteige , about 300 m before the crossing sand path.

The fountain was opened on the occasion of the wedding of Princess Sophie to Wilhelm III. erected in the Netherlands in 1839. Sophie was a daughter of the Württemberg royal couple Wilhelm I and Katharina Pawlowna ; her husband became king of the Netherlands ten years after the marriage.

The well, which was renovated in 1990, is in the forest at about 430  m above sea level. NN , about 300 m southwest of the Birkenkopf -Gipfels built at the foot of the mountain, located in the catchment area of the south to Nesenbach draining tile blade . It is looked after by the civil engineering department in Stuttgart and is in operation from May to September.
