The Sorn Bridge is a road bridge in the Scottish town of Bridgend on the Hebridean island of Islay . On the bridge, the A846 , which is Bridgend's main road, crosses the river Sorn , which flows a few hundred meters west into the bay of Loch Indaal . On July 20, 1971, the Sorn Bridge was added to the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

description

The stone bridge was completed in 1860. A corresponding badge is attached in the arched corner. The two symmetrical bridge arches are made of quarry stone . These are filled in so that a level road surface is created. There are low guide walls on both sides. On the western side, the carriageway reaches up to the wall, while on the eastern side a narrow, unpaved pedestrian path runs right next to the carriageway.
