The Soul Kitchen is an event hall in the Hamburg district of Wilhelmsburg . It was the location of the film of the same name by Fatih Akın, Soul Kitchen . Since June 18, 2010, a variety of cultural events and exhibitions have taken place in the hall. The hall is in dire need of renovation and was therefore closed by the responsible authorities on August 31, 2012 for security reasons. In particular, there is a lack of fire protection and sanitary facilities .
