The South Cape (English for Southern Cape ) marks the southern end of the atriceps Island and is also the southernmost point of the Robertson Islands in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands .
It was discovered and named by Captains George Powell and Nathaniel Palmer , who discovered the South Shetland Islands in December 1821.
