The Social List Bochum is a non-party , left-wing voter association in Bochum .

history

The voters 'association was founded on January 15, 2004 by Bochum's citizens' initiatives, unemployment groups, the women's association Courage , the DKP , members of the PDS at that time , members of attac and former Social Democrats and Greens .

While it was quite successful in its first election in 2004, won two city councilors in the Bochum city council and was also elected in three of the six district councils, a significant loss was recorded in 2009; Apart from the city council, only one candidate on the social list was elected to a district council. In the 2014 municipal elections, she received 0.9% of the vote and has since been represented with a seat on the Bochum City Council, but no longer in any of the district councils.

Mayor candidate 2009

For the local elections on August 30, 2009, the Social List nominated its own candidate for the office of Lord Mayor: Günter Gleising, co-founder of the Socialist German Workers' Youth and temporarily DKP district chairman. He received 7.8% of the vote.
