Socialist Destur Party
The Socialist Destur Party ( French Parti Socialiste Destourien ; Arabic الحزب الاشتراكي الدستوري, DMG al-Ḥizb al-ištirākī ad-dustūrī ) was the ruling unity party of Tunisia from 1964 to 1988.
The party was previously called the Destur Party or Neo Destur Party and was later renamed the Constitutional Democratic Collection .
Bahi Ladgham was the party's first prime minister and Hédi Baccouche was the last. The party was officially founded in October 1964 and dissolved on February 27, 1988. Habib Bourguiba was the first president of the Socialist Destur Party from 1964 to 1987. He was replaced by Zine El Abidine Ben Ali from 1987 to 1988.
