Spörer is an impact crater on the front of the moon southeast of the Sinus Medii , southeast of the Flammarion crater and north of Herschel . The crater is heavily eroded, the rim of the crater in the south almost eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German astronomer Gustav Spörer .
