from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The series Space Art of Bavarian TV was broadcast from 1997 to 2010 with interruptions in the Space Night .

The beginning

The first Space Art film was shown back in 1994: Cosmic Dancer , the sculpture by Swiss artist Arthur Woods on board the Russian Mir space station.

In 1997 the BR had a pilot film produced under the title Im Lichtfern Sonnen - The Worlds of Michael Böhme . A television program was created to the music of Klaus Schulze , which was completely new in this way. A camera flight into landscapes that a space artist had created, without cutting and black fade from one fantastic world to the next. An audiovisual art exhibition that met with so much positive approval that the Space Art series was launched on Space Night that same year . As part of BR-alpha - Space Night, the Space Art programs are broadcast regularly.

Production 1997-2003

After the pilot film, the first part of the Space Art series with pictures by Michael Böhme was produced in the same year . This part went on air with a length of almost 40 minutes under the title In the light of far suns - The universe of Michael Böhme . Enthusiastic letters to the station from other European countries to Scotland confirmed the new concept of the Space Art series in the Space Night. This was followed by the production with paintings by Frank Lewecke under the title Millennium III - Works by Frank Lewecke . The soundtrack for the 45-minute broadcast was created in collaboration with the Nuremberg ambient live act “A Million Lights”. Subsequently, the works of Luděk Pešek were filmed. In 1998/99 a three-part show with paintings by the Englishman David A. Hardy went into production. In the series, the fifth episode with pictures by Gabriele L. Berndt was broadcast in 2000 . The music for this episode was specially composed: by the film composer Matthias Junken . The symphonic composition Lost in the Galaxy has already been heard in other television productions.

In 2001, Thomas Thiemeyer's paintings and book covers went on air. Other programs produced in 2001 presented works by: Johnny Bruck , Ralf Schoofs, Hamid Omaryar, Rudolf Seelmann, Detlev van Ravenswaay, Ludwig Angerer the Elder and Gerd Otto. The Space Art series continued in 2002 with a new edition of pictures by Michael Böhme and Gabriele L. Berndt. Ralph Voltz concluded with his covers for publications from the Perry-Rhodan family. A total of 15 episodes were created by 2003, in addition a special in 1999 with painters based in southern Germany, and in 2001 for the 40th anniversary of the Perry Rhodan booklet series, a special with pictures by Johnny Bruck.
