biography

Thomas Thiemeyer studied geography and geology in Cologne. In 1989 his first book for young people was published for Ravensburger Buchverlag , for which Thiemeyer also worked as a graphic consultant. Then he went into business for himself. As a freelance artist, he illustrates games, books for young people, book covers and much more. Due to his expertise as an illustrator, he was invited in 1998 by a publishing house in Tanzania and the Goethe Institute there to illustrate a book for young people about the dinosaurs of Tendaguru . In addition to information for young readers in Tanzania, it deals with the history of the most spectacular fossil finds in what was then German East Africa .

Thiemeyer has worked for Heyne , Arena , Fantasy Productions , Beltz & Gelberg , Harper Collins , Random House and Wizards of the Coast, among others . More recently, he worked with American director Darren Aronofsky . Bavarian television dedicated a 20-minute contribution to his paintings on Space Art . His work has been awarded the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize and the German Fantastic Prize several times .

Since 2004 he has turned more and more to writing. His debut novel "Medusa" and most of the following novels were published by Droemer Knaur . Many of his novels have become bestsellers and have been translated into a number of languages: English, Italian , Spanish , Dutch , Czech , Polish , Russian , Korean , Slovenian , Turkish , Portuguese , Chinese and Ukrainian .

His stories are in the tradition of classic adventure novels and often deal with the discovery of sunken cultures and the threat from mysterious forces. For the start of a crime series set in Corsica with Eric Marchand as the main character, he got the pseudonym "Vitu Falconi" in 2018.

Since January 2013 he has been running the channel Der Whiskey Club on YouTube , which was carried out in collaboration with his colleague Rainer Wekwerth until July 2015 .

He is married and lives in Stuttgart.
