Space Chaser is a Berlin thrash metal band that was founded in 2011.

history

The band was formed in 2011. A first demo followed in 2012. The label This Charming Man Records became aware of the band through Lupus Lindemann von Kadavar . The EP Decapitron joined the label in 2013 . In 2014, the same label released their debut album Watch the Skies! recorded by Harris Johns at the Music Lab Berlin . Johns became aware of them during a performance by the band in 2012 and had offered the group to produce the album for them. Both the EP and the album were distributed through Cargo Records . Matthias Scheuerer, who can be heard on the album, is already the third drummer in the band's history. For November 2014, appearances in the opening act of Tankard are planned.

style

In an interview with Matthias Mader from Rock Hard , the guitarist Leo Schacht stated that the band members are fans of American Thrash Metal. The band was particularly influenced by Agent Steel , which, according to Mader, is occasionally noticeable in the lyrics. Schacht was particularly fascinated by the high vocals. According to Colin Brinker from metal.de , the band plays on Watch the Skies! Thrash Metal, which is based on the style of the 1980s. In particular, influences from bands from the San Francisco Bay Area and groups like Overkill , Destruction and Annihilator can be heard. The vocals are reminiscent of Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth from Overkill.
