Split lead
A split lead is used by anglers to weigh down the fishing line . It is a small ball made of lead that is slit down the middle. The cord is placed in the slot and the lead is pinched with pliers to hold it on the cord. They are available in precisely defined weights from 0.1 to several grams, and they are usually sorted in a dispenser box.
