Appearance
The size of the split-winged pigeon corresponds to that of a small city pigeon. The wings are short and strongly rounded in relation to the body size. The tail is short and broad. There is no noticeable gender dimorphism . The females are just slightly smaller than the males.
The plumage of the split-winged pigeon is predominantly bright green and yellow. Only the throat and the thick fletching of the legs are pure white. The head, neck and chest are bright green. The chest plumage is separated from the abdominal plumage by a narrow white and a narrow black band. The belly and the under tail-coverts are bright yellow. The beak is dark green. The iris is red.
behavior
The split-winged pigeon is a forest-dwelling species that mainly feeds on fruits and berries. Little explored their life in the wild. It is only known that it builds its nest in trees or bushes. The clutch consists of two eggs.
